-Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai attended and delivered a speech at the 29th Future of Asia Forum in Tokyo on May 23.

The event, held under the theme of “Asia Leadership in an Uncertain World”, drew the participation of leaders of countries, representatives of businesses and prestigious scholars in the region, including the Prime Ministers of Japan, Malaysia and Thailand and the Deputy Prime Ministers of Cambodia and Singapore.Read full story

-Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai met bilaterally with his Cambodian and Singaporean counterparts on May 23 during his working trip to Tokyo for the 29th International Conference on the Future of Asia.

Meeting Cambodian Deputy PM Sun Chanthol, Khai expressed his delight at the stable development of bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic aspect with a remarkable growth in two-way trade in the first quarter of this year.Read full story

-Phan Dinh Trac, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Chairman of the PCC's Commission for Internal Affairs met with Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) Jeong Seung-yoon in Hanoi on May 23.

Trac, who is also standing deputy head of the Central Steering Committee for Prevention and Control of Corruption and Negative Phenomena and the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform, highlighted the growing partnership between the two nations, particularly since their relationship was elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership in December 2022.Read full story

Hang made the comment while answering a reporter's query on Vietnam’s view on Cambodia’s request for its cooperation in verifying the information that some social network accounts, supposed to belong to Vietnamese citizens, post inappropriate comments on the account of President of the Cambodian Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen.Read full story

-As has been clearly enunciated many times, Vietnam has full legal basis and ample historical evidence to assert its sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and the Truong Sa (Spratly), in accordance with international law as well as sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction over maritime zones established following the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS 1982), Deputy Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry Doan Khac Viet said on May 23.

He made the statement in response to reporters’ query regarding a new regulation issued by China on May 15 authorising its coast guard force to detain for up to 30 days without trial foreigners who violate or help others violate territorial waters/waters that China claims sovereignty.Read full story/.

According to historical records, the area once served as an operational base for units of Regiments 609, 66, 24 and 320, as well as staff and logistics agencies of the Central Highlands front (B3) during the 1966–1969 period. Between 2020 and 2025, the corps had already recovered remains from 46 martyrs in the Chu Pa mountain area.

Vietnam’s senior Party official meets with Cambodian alumni in Phnom Penh
