The TripAdvisor.com tourism website has ranked the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology as excellent. This is the second time the museum received this rating from the website.

To be recognised, touristdestinations need to be rated above four stars on a five-star scalebased on reviews and votes posted on the website within the last 12months.

The museum was cited among the most attractive tourist destinations in Hanoi for 2012.

This year, the museum received 500 votes of excellent, 357 votes ofvery good, was rated four and a half stars overall and ranked sixth inthe list of 25 most attractive museums in Asia.

Visiting themuseum, located on Nguyen Van Huyen Street, Hanoi, tourists canlearn about the history and diversified culture of the 54 ethnic groupsof the country through indoor and outdoor exhibitions.

Themuseum attracts tourists thanks to rich collection of objects, photos,videos and documents, as well as the different types of model housesthat represent how ethnic groups from all over Vietnam live. Themuseum receives about 60.000 visitors annually.-VNA

HCM City expects to become regional leading tourism hub

Following the recent administrative restructuring that merged the city with the neighbouring provinces of Binh Duong and Ba Ria–Vung Tau, HCM City now boasts 681 potential tourist sites. With a population of over 14 million, it has become Vietnam’s largest intra-provincial tourism market, both in scale and in diversity.

Tourism boom takes hold in newly-expanded Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City welcomed 3.85 million foreigners in the first half, a 44% surge year-on-year, alongside 18.3 million domestic tourists, up 7%. The influx generated nearly 117.94 trillion VND (4.53 billion USD) in revenue, a 27.3% yearly rise, putting the city nearly halfway to its annual target, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.
