Hanoi (VNA) – Myanmar’s President U Htin Kyaw has resigned after two years in office, the President’s Office said in a statement posted on Facebook on March 21.
According to the notice, Htin Kyaw stepped down because he wanted to “take a rest”.

Vice President U Myint Swe will serve as acting president until the parliament chooses a replacement, said Chief of the President’s Office U Zaw Htay.
