Hanoi (VNA) – Myanmar’s Union Parliament on May 5 agreed to discuss adding the Ministry of the Office of State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi to the government set-up.
The addition of the new ministry was proposed by President Htin Kyaw.
According to Speaker of the Union Parliament Man Win Khaing Than, the debate will take place on May 10.
Myanmar’s new government, led by President Htin Kyaw, has formed 21 ministries run by 18 ministers, down from the numbers of 36 ministries and 32 ministers of the previous government.
The new government took office on April 1 after the handover of the duties of the Head of State from the previous U Thein Sein's government was complete on March 30.-VNA
