NA Chairman visits Bach Long Vi island

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung has underlined the important geographical position of Bach Long Vi island district and its role as an ideal destination for developing fishing and tourism in line with the national socio-economic development plan.
National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung has underlined the important geographical position of Bach Long Vi island district and its role as an ideal destination for developing fishing and tourism in line with the national socio-economic development plan.

The NA leader made the statement at his meeting with Bach Long Vi island district voters in the northern port city of Hai Phong on Dec. 20. The meeting took place on the threshold of the second year of implementing the 11 th National Party Congress and the socio-economic development plan for the 2011-2015 period.

Voters proposed the NA instruct the city to enrich people’s spiritual lives, increase investment in the supply of fresh water and transport from mainland to the island.

They expressed their hope for more investment in the sea dyke reinforcement project, provision of seed varieties and improvement of the Internet network on the island.

The legislative chief asked the city to best use the island’s geographical advantage and economic potential in working out its socio-economic development plan.

He also instructed the city’s authorities to raise the quality of facilities for education and training, people’s healthcare and cultural life.

On the occasion, NA Chairman Hung visited and presented gifts to the Lighthouse Station, Regiment 952 and the Border Guard Station on the island.

On the same day, at a working session with officials of the city, NA Chairman Hung commended the city’s Party’s Committee, authorities and people on maintaining a high economic growth rate.

He suggested the city focus on building a strong political system and Party organisation to ensure the successful implementationn of the Resolution of the 11 th National Party Congress./.
