National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung has vowed to offer all possible support to the new Azerbaijan Ambassador to Vietnam Anar Imanov, expressing his wish to deepen ties between the two nations.
Receiving Imanov in Hanoi on March 5, Chairman Hung said he believes Azerbaijan’s first ambassador to Vietnam will strongly push forward bilateral connections.
On the back of a time-honoured friendship, Vietnam and Azerbaijan can foster partnerships in national defence, security, culture, education and especially trade, he said.
The host made it clear that Vietnam sticks steadfastly to its multilateral diplomatic policy of befriending countries across the globe for peace and amity.
Imanov, for his part, said Azerbaijan highly values cooperation with Vietnam, considering it as one of the priorities in its diplomatic policy.
He asked for more support from the legislature and government to accelerate links in economics, trade, investment, culture and tourism.
The diplomat said he will muster all his strength for the sake of two-way affiliation.-VNA
