NA deputies, reporters to cover NA’s 11th sitting tested for coronavirus

The National Assembly (NA) Office on March 22 conducted COVID-19 testing on all NA deputies and people involved in the organisation of the upcoming 11th session of the 14th National Assembly from March 24 to April 8.

Hanoi (VNA) - The National Assembly (NA) Office on March 22 conductedCOVID-19 testing on all NA deputies and people involved in the organisation of theupcoming 11th session of the 14th National Assembly fromMarch 24 to April 8.

Those receiving testing included NA deputies, high-rankingguests, staff members at the NA Office and offices of NA deputy delegations ofcentrally-run cities and provinces serving the session, and security forcesserving the plenum, and reporters and technicians from news agencies.

After samples were taken, they were providedwith a code and barcode to have their health monitored during the sitting.

The results of the tests will be announcedbefore the opening ceremony, the NA Office said.

Earlier, at the 54th meeting of theNA Standing Committee, NA General Secretary and head of the NA Office NguyenHanh Phuc said that the office had actively coordinated with relevant officesto thoroughly prepare for the NA’s 11th plenum, and worked with theHealth Ministry in taking measures to ensure pandemic prevention and control,including conducting COVID-19 testing./.

Vietnam moves toward universal free annual health checkups from 2026

Every Vietnamese citizen from 2026 onward will be entitled to at least one free annual medical checkup or screening. Each individual will also have a digital health record integrated into the national digital identification platform VNeID, enabling authorities and healthcare providers to manage health data in a synchronised and continuous manner.

Under the plan, each resident will be assigned a unique EHR linked to their personal identification number, ensuring accuracy and consistency while minimising duplication and data discrepancies.
