An official site connecting the National Assembly (NA) deputies and their constituents was jointly launched on March 23 by the Office of the National Assembly and the British Embassy in Vietnam.
Addressing the launching ceremony, Dr Nguyen Si Dung, Deputy Director of the Office of the National Assembly, described the site at http://hoidap.quochoi.vn as a tool to help NA deputies implement their mission as representatives, tighten ties between the deputies and the people and promote democracy.
British Ambassador Mark Kent confirmed British willingness to share experience on enhancing connectivity between the deputies and the people with Vietnam.
The site allows the public to ask National Assembly deputies whatever questions they wish, or join in one of the site’s topics. Deputies will answer these questions directly by posting on the site. Users will be free to post comments on a specific question or answer.
Initially, the site will focus on NA operations in 2010, such as training quality at the tertiary level, food hygiene and safety.
Apart from questions and answers, the site will also include publications and information to help people better understand the National Assembly, and introduce NA deputies.
The site is based on the web Yoosk, a new approach successfully used by the UK government./.
