Hanoi (VNA) – The National Assembly Standing Committee began its 45th session in Hanoi on May 8 under the chair of NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.
The NA Chairwoman underlined that the 45th session is the last one before the ninth session of the NA. Besides issues under the committee’s authority, the committee will give opinions for the last time on contents to be submitted to the NA at the upcoming session.
The committee will examine the draft law on adjustments and supplements to a number of articles of the Law on Organisation of the NA (the second time), three draft NA resolutions on recognising and allowing the enforcement of decisions of arbitration agencies under the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), some specific financial mechanisms and policies for Hanoi, and the pilot model of urban administration in Da Nang.
The committee is scheduled to give opinions on reports on supplementary assessment of the implementation of socio-economic development plans and State budget in 2019 and the first months of 2020; the 2018 State budget balance; outcomes of the supervision of settlement of voters’ petitions submitted to the NA’s 8th session; and a summary of voters and people’s petitions submitted to the upcoming 9th NA session.
The committee will also look into the national target programme on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in 2021-2030; the change in investment form for some component projects of the eastern route of the North-South highway in 2017-2020; and preparations for the 9th NA session.
The committee may also consider personnel issues during its 45th session, which is taking place on May 8, 15 and 16./.
