The 48th meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee will take place in Hanoi from September 10-18.

– The 48th meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committeewill take place in Hanoi from September 10-18.
NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan will deliver an opening speech. She and vicechairpersons will alternately chair the session, according to an announcementreleased by the NA Office.

Thecommittee is scheduled to scrutinise five draft laws, comprising the lawamending and supplementing some articles of the trade union law, the law on forcessafeguarding security and order at the grassroots level, the revised law ondrug prevention and control, the revised law on road traffic, and the law onroad traffic order and safety.

The2015 Criminal Procedure Code, and a number of draft resolutions and reports willalso be tabled for discussion during the meeting.  

Legislatorswill also give opinions on preparations for the 10th meeting of theNA, the inclusion of medical supplies in the national reserves, the approval of the nomination of Vietnamese ambassadors, and theestablishment of Hong Ngu city in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap, amongothers./.
