NA Standing Committee to convene 51st meeting on December 9-11

The 51st session of the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee will take place in Hanoi on December 9-11, according to the NA Office.

Hanoi (VNA) - The 51st session of the National Assembly (NA) StandingCommittee will take place in Hanoi on December 9-11, according to the NA Office.

NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan will deliver an opening speech and chair thesession in rotation together with the Vice Chairpersons.

As scheduled, the committee will give opinions on the draft revised Law on DrugPrevention and Control, as well as consider and approve the draft Ordinance on Preferential Treatment for People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution (amended).

It will also consider and decide on the arrangement of district- and communal-leveladministrative units in the 2019-2021 period and the establishment of Thu Duc cityin Ho Chi Minh City.

Besides, the committee will also decide on the establishment of Phu Quoc city ofKien Giang province and its wards; Tan Binh township in Bac Tan Uyen district,Binh Duong province; wards of Thanh Hoa city, Thanh Hoa province; Vinh ThachTrung township in Chau Phu district, Co To township in Tri Ton district, andVinh Binh township in Chau Thanh district, An Giang province.

It will give comments on the summarisation of the 10th session of the 14thNational Assembly and the preparation for the 11th session; as well aspreparations for the election of deputies to the 15th legislature and thePeople's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure./.

Foreign policy contributes to propelling Vietnam into new era

2024 saw Vietnam significantly expanding its diplomatic activities with numerous partners and at various important multilateral forums and mechanisms. The country’s key leaders conducted a total of 60 external activities, including paying 21 visits to foreign countries and attend major multilateral conferences, as well as hosting 25 delegations of foreign leaders to Vietnam.
