Hanoi (VNA) - The following is a brief review of the day’s events as reported by the Vietnam News Agency.

- National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man on June 21 affirmed that Vietnam always values and wants to promote the relations friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Morocco, as he received Najib El-Khadi, Secretary-General of Morocco’s House of Representatives and President of the Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments (ASGP).

Man emphasised parliamentary cooperation is an effective cooperation channel between the two countries. Their parliaments have maintained delegation exchanges, high-level meetings, and close cooperation; and supported each other at world and regional multilateral inter-parliamentary forums. - Vietnam’s anti-corruption efforts have helped spur its economic growth, Director of the Canada-Vietnam Trade Council Julie Nguyen and Professor of Business at Centennial College in Toronto Luis Silva shared the view.

- Vietnam is Brazil’s priority partner in Asia, Vice President and Minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services of Brazil Geraldo Alckmin affirmed at a working session with Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil Bui Van Nghi in Brasilia on June 19.

- Vietnam sent more than 78,000 labourers to work abroad so far this year, with Japan receiving the largest number, according to the Department of Overseas Labour under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

The northeastern country received 40,597 Vietnamese labourers, followed by Taiwan (China) with over 27,000, and the Republic of Korea with more than 5,500. Read full story

- The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) on June 20 launched a video contest to mark the 25th anniversary of the summer youth volunteer campaign.

- The 10th International Yoga Day was marked in Ho Chi Minh City on June 21 with 1,500 yogis performing basic yoga postures together in District 1.
