NA Standing Committee wraps up 20th session

The NA Standing Committee’s 20th session concluded in Hanoi on August 21.
The National Assembly Standing Committee’s 20th session concluded in Hanoi on August 21 after a week-long sitting.

During the session, lawmakers voiced their opinions on the draft amendments to the 1992 Constitution, seven draft laws, an ordinance on mobile police, and decrees on casino and betting business on horse, dog racing and international football.

Minister of Justice Ha Hung Cuong and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Minh Quang also underwent question-and-answer sessions.

Deputies commented on the Resolution on amendments and supplements to some articles of the Resolution No. 928/2010/UBTBQH10 on tax rates imposed on natural resources.

They also debated the Government’s report on assessing the implementation of the State Treasury’s financial management mechanism and payroll in the 2009-2013 period.

NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung asked the NA Standing Committee, Council for Ethnic Affairs and other agencies to refine documents in preparation for the next sessions of the committee in September and October and the sixth session of the NA (13th tenure) where the draft revised 1992 Constitution, the draft Law on Land and other important contents will be adopted.

He also called for thorough preparations for the conference of full-time NA deputies slated for early October.-VNA
