Before the closing ceremony, lawmakers debated thedraft Law on Supervisory Activities of the National Assembly andPeople’s Councils. In his speech, NA Vice Chairman Huynh Ngoc Son suggested adding regulations on the responsibility of supervisors. Under the bill, supervision includes not only oversight and evaluationof activities of individuals and organisations but also settling issueswithin authorities or transferring to relevant authorities. It dictates that only the NA performs the highest supervisory functionand all top supervisory activities are to be conducted in NA sessions. The document also specifies the procedures of supervising the settlement of complaints and denunciations. During the seven-day sitting, Chief Judge of the Supreme People’sCourt Truong Hoa Binh and Minister-Chairman of the Committee for EthnicAffairs Giang Seo Phu fielded questions under their charge in thequestion-and-answer sessions.-VNA

To further advance bilateral ties in the new era, the two leaders agreed to continue making full use of existing cooperation mechanisms across all channels, including meetings between the two Parties, promote exchanges between young leaders and youth from both countries, and expand cooperation between their legislative, executive and judicial bodies, people’s organisations and localities.

This is PM Hung’s first official visit to Cambodia. It holds particular significance, demonstrating the high priority that the Party, State and Government of Vietnam attach to relations with Cambodia and contributing to further deepening the bilateral ties of “good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability”.

Vietnam promotes Party diplomacy at international conference in Mexico
