Many Vietnamese diplomatic missions overseas organised activities to celebrate the country’s 67 th anniversary of August 1945 Revolution and National Day.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Canada on August 31 and September 1 hosted receptions in Ottawa for representatives from the Canadian Government, the diplomatic corps, Ontario province’s authorities and the Vietnamese community in the country.

Ambassador Le Sy Vuong Ha stressed that September 2, 1945 marked a historical turning-point in the Vietnamese nation’s struggle for national independence and freedom.

He briefed the guests on Vietnam ’s recent political and socio-economic development achievements, and hailed the growing relations between Vietnam and Canada .

In Australia , the Vietnamese Embassy organised a ceremony in Canberra on August 31.

Speaking at the event, Peter Slipper, Speaker of the Australian House of Representatives, voiced his support for the friendly relationship between Australia and Vietnam , saying he believes that it will continue growing in the future.
The Vietnamese Embassies in Thailand and Mexico and the Vietnamese Consulate General in Cambodia ’s Battambang province also hosted similar events on August 31.-VNA
