National men’s football team ranks 98th in FIFA rankings

Vietnam’s national men’s football team have moved up one spot since last month to hit 98th place in the latest FIFA rankings.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s nationalmen’s football team have moved up one spot since last month to hit 98th place in the latest FIFArankings.

This is the best rank for Vietnam since they held the 84th position in September 1998.

The recent high rankings have created a positive impact as FIFA beginsclassifying teams in order to divide up international tournaments, includingthe upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification.

In Asia, Vietnam ranked 16th and outstripped Thailand as the second-rankedteam in the Southeast Asian rankings.

The Philippines is still in the third place in Asia and 124th in the world, followedby Myanmar.

Belgium top the world rankings, while France,Brazil, and England come just behind. –VNA
