More than 170 domestic and foreign businesses will display their goods at the 2013 timber and forest product fair which will take place in the central province of Binh Dinh from June 28 to July 3.
The fair is a part of the national trade promotion sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development, Binh Dinh People’s Committee and Vietnam Timber and Forest Product Association (VIFORES).
The participating businesses mainly come from the country’s four biggest wood processing centres- Binh Dinh, Binh Duong, Dong Nai and HCM City. There are three companies from the Lao province of Champassak.
On the occasion, the Vietnam Timber and Forest Product Association (VIFORES) will hold its third congress and a symposium entitled “ Vietnam’s wood processing industry - reality and solutions towards sustainable development”.
Vietnam is currently Asia’s second largest exporter of wood products with 4.67 billion USD in export turnover in 2012. The country expects to earn 5.5 billion USD from these products this year, with the main markets being the US, the European Union and Japan .
