Ten most outstanding farmers in the country were presented the “2009 Farming Genie” prize at a ceremony in Hanoi on Jan. 31.
The awardees representing over 50 million farmers nationwide have production models that bring high economic values.
They include Do Quy Hao from southern Kien Giang province, who was successful with sweet potatoes; Nguyen Van Moi from southern Ninh Thuan province with grapes; Lam Thanh Tran from the Moc Chau Milch Cow Breeding Company in northern Son La province; and Vo Dai Nghia from central Quang Binh province with husbandry and forest plantation in sand hills.
The “Farming Genie” prize was jointly held by the Vietnam Farmers’ Association, the Vietnam Television’s News Department, the Rural Nowadays newspaper and the Viet News Agency Joint Stock Company./.
