According to the ministry, the newly detected infections include 2,454 locallyinfected cases. They were recorded in Ho Chi Minh City (1,756), Binh Duong(281), Dong Nai (75), Long An (48), Tay Ninh (42), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (41), VinhLong (38), Dong Thap (36) ), Tien Giang (31), Khanh Hoa (29), Ben Tre (17), PhuYen (16), Can Tho (12), Kien Giang (10), Hanoi (9), Binh Dinh (4), Soc Trang(3), An Giang (3), Bac Ninh (1), Dak Nong (1), and Bac Giang (1).
Of these,2,226 cases were detected in quarantine or locked down areas.
By 6am on July 18, Vietnam recorded 51,002 COVID-19 cases, including 48,964domestic infections and 2,038 imported ones. The number of infections reportedsince the fourth wave of COVID-19 outbreaks hit Vietnam late April amounted to47,394, 7,538 of whom have been given the all-clear. The total recoveriesreached 10,312.
Among the active patients, 267 tested negative forthe coronavirus once, 116 twice and 118 thrice.
Twelve localities have gone through two weekswithout new infections in the community./.
