New directions are opening up for the cooperation between Vietnam and Russia as strategic partner.

The view was shared by Vice Chairwoman of the HCM City People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hong and Russian Consul General Nikolay Dmitrievich Ubushiev at the celebration of the 60 th anniversary of the Vietnam-Russia diplomatic ties in HCM City on Jan. 28.

Apart from the existing close bilateral ties in economics, trade, science and technology, education and culture, recent agreements on cooperation in atomic energy, oil and gas and military technology have consolidated traditional mutual assistance and served both peoples’ interest.

Vice Chairwoman Hong said that the city will continue to pay special attention to the cooperative ties with Russian sister localities, including Saint Petersburg and Moscow , thus contributing to the implementation of cooperation agreements reached between the two governments in various domains.
