Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the Political Department of the Vietnam People’s Navy signed a cooperative programme to disseminate information on sea and islands in Hanoi on Sept. 17.
Under the agreement, VNA, through its different sources of news, newspapers, photos, e-newspaper and television channel, will introduce and popularise information on Vietnam’s sea and islands and the activities of the naval force in protecting the country’s water sovereignty.
VNA will also send its reporters to naval agencies to gather information to write articles and take photos and videos on the situation of Vietnam ’s islands and sea and the activities of the naval force.
The two sides will work together to launch writing contests and organise photo exhibitions, exchanges and talk shows to raise people’s awareness on the issue.
Addressing the ceremony, VNA General Director Tran Mai Huong said as a reliable strategic information agency of the Party and State, and a people’s forum, VNA always attaches important to providing information on sea and islands and considers the responsibilities for protecting islands and sea sovereignty a top national priority.
Rear Admiral Pham Ngoc Chan, Head of the Political Department, affirmed that his department would actively cooperate with and provide information for the VNA./.
