Nghe An: Festival marks 128th birth anniversary of Ho Chi Minh

“Le hoi Lang Sen” (Sen Village Festival 2018) began in Nghe An on May 17 as part of activities to mark the 128th birthday of late President Ho Chi Minh (May 19).

Nghe An (VNA) - “Le hoi Lang Sen”(Sen Village Festival 2018) began in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, thecentral province of Nghe An on May 17 as part of activities to mark the 128thbirthday of late President Ho Chi Minh (May 19).

Sen village is the birthplace of PresidentHo Chi Minh.

The highlight of the festival’s openingceremony was a concert gathering more than 600 local artists.

The same day, provincial leaders andorganisations laid wreaths at the Uncle Ho Statue in Vinh City’s Ho Chi MinhSquare. A procession carrying photos of President Ho Chi Minh from his memorialhouse at the Kim Lien relic site to Lang Sen Stadium also took place.

Lasting until May 19, the festival features variousactivities, including film screenings, camping and sporting events, a photo exhibition,a musical festival and a kite flying contest.

The Sen Village Festival, first held in2003, helps visitors from across the country and abroad understand more aboutthe life of President Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam’s preeminent hero and a worldcultural icon. The event is held annually at provincial level and once everyfive years at national level on the occasion of the President’s birthday.-VNA
