Nguyen Phu Trong active in China

Thecentre is home to almost 40 outstanding universities and over 200national science research centres. It is expected to become aninfluential centre for technological innovation in the world.

The same day, at a reception for President of the China-VietnamFriendship Association (CVFA) Wang Jinsha, Trong praised CVFA’sactivities, along with the Vietnam-China Friendship Association, whichcontributed to developing relations between the two Parties, States andpeoples.

Wang said that in recent years, CVFA haspromoted friendship between the two peoples, engaged in humanitarian aidand promoting cooperation between the two Parties and countries, namingas examples the Vietnam-China People’s Friendship Festival, theFriendship Festival of people along Vietnam-China border, and theVietnama-China Young People Friendship Festival.

Also on the occasion of Party General Secretary Trong’s visit, Ministerof National Defence Gen. Phung Quang Thanh met with his Chinesecounterpart Sen. Lieut. Gen. Liang Guanglie.

Thanhexpressed satisfaction at the improving relations between the armies ofthe two countries, which have become a pillar of the comprehensivestrategic cooperative partnership between the two Parties and States.

Looking back the relations between the two armiessince 2003, Gen. Thanh noted the signing of five documents to serve aslegal foundation for national defence cooperation. Regular exchangeactivities have helped strengthen mutual trust between the two countriesand maintain peace and stability in the region.

Regarding the existing disputes over the East Sea, Minister Thanh saidthat during the Party General Secretary Trong’s visit, the two sidessigned an agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of seaover. He said the two armies should actively implement the agreement tomaintain peace and stability in the two countries’ relations as well asin the region.

Sen. Lieut. Gen. Liang shared theview that the armies should exercise restraint and caution in speech andaction to avoid escalating the issue and uphold their role inmaintaining friendship in the two countries’ relations.

As part of the visit, the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen ThienNhan received representatives of SANY Group and CMEC Group.

The same day, Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang met with his Chinesecounterpart Li Shenglin and Deputy Minister of Public Security Dang VanHieu met with the Chinese Minister of Public Security Meng Jianzhu./.

Vietnam, Thailand strengthen sharing of legislative and oversight experience

Based on the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Vietnam’s National Assembly and Thailand’s House of Representatives, signed in 2023, Vietnam and Thailand agreed to continue exchanges of delegations at all levels, expand interactions between parliamentary friendship groups, especially the Vietnam–Thailand Parliamentary Friendship Group, as well as among women and young parliamentarians, while maintaining close coordination at multilateral forums.

Vietnamese Embassy in Israel urges citizens to enhance safety measures

The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel recommended that Vietnamese nationals regularly follow alerts and instructions issued by the Israeli Home Front Command; install and use the official Home Front Command warning application; and immediately move to a safe room or shelter when air raid sirens sound. They should avoid unnecessary travel and stay away from areas considered unsafe or at risk of unsafety.
