At a working session with Ninh Binh authorities on July 17 to review the five-year implementation of the Party Central Committee’s Resolution on agriculture, rural areas and farmers, Chairman Hung said the application of technological advances is a key measure to build new rural areas.

He also suggested that the province works out plan to strongly develop industry in tune with the country’s industrialisation and modernisation.

The NA leader stressed that industrialisation and modernisation is the most sustainable and effective solution to develop rural areas.

The province should also try to ensure a harmonious development among animal husbandry, planting, forestry and fishery while providing vocational training for rural workers in a proper way.

Over the past five years, Ninh Binh has completed the drafting of development plans for agricultural production, construction of new rural areas, irrigational works, forest and flooding prevention.

Local officials affirmed that the Resolution has really proved effective and been welcomed by people from all walks of life across the locality, who actively joined in implementing it.

They also suggested the Government promptly amend and supplement the Decree 61/CP on incentives for businesses investing in agriculture and rural areas.

Earlier the same day, Chairman Hung toured Yen Khanh district’s Khanh Thanh commune, which has met 15 out of 19 criteria in building new rural areas and become one of 31 model localities in the campaign.-VNA
