Hanoi (VNA) - Ly Hoang Nam was ousted from the Men’s Futures F9 tennis tournament on November 4 in the southern province of Binh Duong.
The No 4 seeded Vietnamese was beaten 2-6, 6-7 (5) by No 5 Enzo Couacaud of France in the quarterfinals of the singles event. Couacaud also won the F8 event last weekend.
Nam will still compete in the tournament’s doubles category on November 5 with Ti Chen of Chinese Taipei. They will fight for the title against their rivals Moon Ju-Hea and Noh Sang-woo from the Republic of Korea.
In other matches on November 4, the No 1 seeded Ti won 6-1, 5-7, 6-3 over No 7 Hung Jui-chen; No 8 seed Davis Agung Susanto was defeated 6-4, 3-6, 0-6 by unseeded Francis Casey Alcantara of the Philippines.
Ti will play Couacaud in the first semifinal match, while Alcantara will play No 6 Evan Song of the US who beat No 3 Sasi Kumar Mukund of India 7-6 (3), 7-5.-VNA
