Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam recorded no new COVID-19 cases on September 25 afternoon, keeping the total number of infections unchanged at 1,069.
Today also marks the 23rd consecutive day without transmissions in the community, said the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
However, experts said Vietnam is facing four infection risk sources: people entering the country illegally, those who enter Vietnam legally but do not follow quarantine regulations seriously, the source circulating in the community, and imported commodities which are made in and transported though disease-hit countries.
On September 25, eight more patients were given the all-clear from the disease, including six people treated at the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Hanoi’s Dong Anh district, one at the Quang Nam Central General Hospital and another at the Tuberculosis and Lung Hospital in central Quang Tri province.
The newly-recovered patients brought the total number of recoveries in the country to 999, while there have been 35 deaths related to COVID-19 so far.
Among patients under treatment, there is no longer any critical case, while four have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once, 14 twice and 12 thrice.
As many as 21,842 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients or entered Vietnam from pandemic-hit regions are being quarantined across the country./.
