Obstetrics - paediatrics hospital inaugurated in Bac Ninh

A new Obstetrics-paediatrics hospital with 200 beds was inaugurated in northern Bac Ninh province on July 25.
A new Obstetrics-paediatrics hospital with 200 beds was inaugurated in northern Bac Ninh province on July 25.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Minister of Health Nguyen ThiKim Tien hailed the facility as the best approach to reduce patientoverload in centrally-run hospitals and provide high-quality medicalservices for patients from the province and the vicinity.

She also urged the provincial health sector to improve the managementcapability, and the quality as well as the quantity of the humanresources to ensure better services.

Thefacility, covering nearly 14.500 sq. m. in Dai Phuc ward, Bac Ninh city,has a total investment of 364 billion VND (17 million USD) funded bygovernment bonds and the local budget.

With a staff of nearly 300 people, including 82 doctors, the facility is ready for receiving patients as from July 26.

Vietnam moves toward universal free annual health checkups from 2026

Every Vietnamese citizen from 2026 onward will be entitled to at least one free annual medical checkup or screening. Each individual will also have a digital health record integrated into the national digital identification platform VNeID, enabling authorities and healthcare providers to manage health data in a synchronised and continuous manner.

Ho Chi Minh City rolls out electronic health records on digital citizen app

Under the plan, each resident will be assigned a unique EHR linked to their personal identification number, ensuring accuracy and consistency while minimising duplication and data discrepancies. Health data will be continuously updated from medical facilities, routine check-ups, and screening programmes, then integrated and centrally displayed on the application.
