Outbound tours are attracting a large number of Vietnamese tourists who wish to explore new lands around the world during their four-day New Year holiday (January 1-4, 2015).
According to travel agencies, shopping paradises such as Hong Kong ( China ), Thailand , Malaysia and Europe are favourite destinations for domestic holidaymakers as they launch numerous promotional programmes to stimulate consumption.
Other choices are Australia, Dubai, Japan, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy, the Republic of Korea (RoK) and China, which will host bustling festive and cultural activities.
Taking advantage of the occasion, many travel firms have developed and offered tours of new destinations with reasonable prices.
Nguyen Cong Hoan, Deputy Director of Hanoi Red Tours, said his company has added Xitang, a famous tourist site in China’s Zhejiang province and Yiwu, one of the ten richest district-level cities in China, to its existing tour of Shanghai-Suzhou- Hangzhou.
The new tour is expected to provide tourists with interesting experiences during their journey of discovering places with long-lasting cultural and historical traditions, he said.
He also revealed that as many as 70 percent of tours of the RoK, Dubai , Hong Kong and Singapore provided by his firm have been fully booked.
Meanwhile, the number of tourists buying Vietravel Hanoi’s tours has risen by between 18-25 percent compared to that of the same period last year, focusing on destinations such as Bali (Indonesia), the RoK, Japan, and Australia.
Other travel agencies such Vietrantour, Tranviet, Hanoitourist, Anh Duong Tour and Goldentours have also seen a sharp increase in the number of people booking overseas tours.
