The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) has signed a contract to provide a loan worth over 1 trillion VND (about 470 million USD) to the Electricity of Vietnam’s National Power Transmission Corporation for three power transmission projects.
They include a 200kV station in northern Lao Cai province, a 500/220kV station and a 220kV transmission line in the Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh.
These projects lie within the national electricity development strategy recently approved by the Prime Minister.
Once completed, they are expected to contribute to the national socio-economic development, improving people’s living condition and ensuring defence security.
These are three of the nine urgent power projects in 2013 to which the BIDV has agreed to provide funding with a total worth of over 3 trillion VND.-VNA
