Over 2.37 trillion VND for developing high-tech agriculture

Five commercial banks will provide more than 2.37 trillion VND (111.22 million USD) in loans for five agricultural producers to expand their activities in the time ahead, especially the application of advanced technologies in agricultural production.

To this effect, loancontracts were signed in Hanoi on July 2 as the second part of apilot credit programme launched by the Government which aims toencourage domestic agricultural producers to apply modern technologiesin their production.

Under the programme, the maximuminterest rate for short-term loans is 7 percent a year, while those formedium-and long-term loans are 10 percent and 10.5 percent,respectively.

Among the beneficiaries, Hung Ca Co., Ltd, oneof the tra fish exporters in the Mekong Delta, will receive the largestbank loan of 1.407 trillion VND (66.03 million USD). It is followed byAgrimex Nghe An Joint Stock Company, with 494.49 billion VND (23.2million USD) and Can Tho city’s Trung An rice producer, with 284 billionVND (13.32 million USD).

Truong Hoang Trade and Service Co.,Ltd in the Central Highland province of Lam Dong will be provided with80 billion VND (3.75 million USD), and Cuong Tan rice producer based innorthern Nam Dinh province, 75 billion VND (3.51 million USD).

In addition, the Bac A Commercial Joint Stock Bank will sign acontract to serve as an investment consultant for the Nghe An-based THMilk Joint Stock Company.

On May 29, the programme’s firstfour enterprises, all based in southern An Giang province, reached loanstotaling 350 billion VND (16.42 million USD).-VNA

Can Tho, Guangxi seek collaboration in logistics, supply chains

Chinese investors now back 35 projects in Can Tho with registered capital of nearly 1.2 billion USD. In the first seven months of 2026, Can Tho’s exports to China hit 77.5 million USD, while imports stood at 64.7 million USD. Key exports included rice, seafood, farm produce, processed agricultural products and apparel while main imports comprised agricultural chemicals, veterinary medicines, fertilisers, chemicals, fabrics and other materials and inputs.

Vietnam, Russia move to boost financial cooperation

On bilateral economic, trade and investment ties, Tuan said two-way trade hit 3.24 billion USD in the first seven months of 2026, up 12% from a year earlier. Vietnam’s exports to Russia totaled 1.33 billion USD, while imports amounted to 1.91 billion USD.
