Hanoi (VNA) – More than 340 Vietnamese citizens were flown home from Angola on aflight of national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines on August 13.

The flight wasarranged under cooperation of Vietnamese and Angolan authorities.

Passengersincluded children under 18, the elderly, pregnant women, the ill, workers withexpired contracts and no accommodation, and those in disadvantaged circumstances.

The Embassy ofVietnam in Angola sent its staff to provide the citizens with pre-departureassistance.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, disease preventionmeasures were put in place during the flight. Upon arrival at Hanoi’s Noi Bai InternationalAirport, all the flight crew and passengers were given heath checkups and went into quarantine in line withregulations.

Vietnamese authorities and overseas missions plan to arrange more flights tobring Vietnamese citizens home, depending on their need and quarantine capacityat home./.

Passenger N.V.L. concealed nine pieces amounting to around 3.5 kg, while passenger C.S.M.H. hid seven pieces weighing some 2.7 kg under underwear and on the wrist.
