Over 45,000 people pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh

The President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum welcomed 45,615 visitors, including 4,658 foreigners during the holidays in celebration of the 44th National Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day, according to the mausoleum’s management board.

Hanoi (VNA) - The President Ho ChiMinh Mausoleum welcomed 45,615 visitors, including 4,658 foreigners during the holidaysin celebration of the 44th National Reunification Day (April 30) andMay Day, according to the mausoleum’s management board.

During the five-day holidays, the managementboard has coordinated with units in the Ba Dinh Historical-Cultural RelicComplex, and authorised agencies of Hanoi to well serve domestic and foreignvisitors.

The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is an importantlandmark of Hanoi capital city and stands integrated to the political andsocial history of Vietnam. 

After his death on September 2, 1969, PresidentHo Chi Minh was embalmed and put for view in this granite mausoleum. Themausoleum, modelled after Lenin's tomb in Moscow, was built in two years, from1973 to 1975, with materials donated by people from all over the country.-VNA

Saigon River pedestrian bridge set to be joined on October 21

The assembly comprises a main bridge structure weighing about 1,400 tonnes and a specialised steel supporting frame weighing around 2,000 tonnes. During testing, about 30 self-propelled modular transporters were used to lift the assembly 40cm off the ground for technical inspections. Sensors and monitoring equipment recorded key parameters.

Hanoi breaks ground on 299-hectare safari park

Its key features will include animal habitats modelled on natural ecosystems, veterinary and research facilities, educational exhibitions and recreational areas. Green spaces and water bodies will cover about 81.8% of the site, providing ecological corridors and suitable habitats for wildlife.
