Phnom Penh (VNA) – The National Election Committee (NEC) of Cambodia has issued a call to all Cambodians who are on mission or living and working abroad to return and vote to exercise their rights at the 7th legislative election on June 23.
In a statement on June 14, NEC also requested the cooperation of all embassies of Cambodia to help disseminate the appeal to the Cambodian people who are completing missions or living and working abroad extensively.
In the upcoming election, 17 political parties will participate in the electoral race against the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP).
Early this month, the Cambodian Government decided to allow workers, officials, and labourers in the country to have 3 days off from July 22-24 to join the general election.
Cambodia holds the general election every 5 years. The most recent one took place on July 29, 2018./.
