Chairman of the Vietnam Businesspeople Association in Australia (VBAA) Tran Ba Phuc has received a multicultural award for excellence in 2011 in the Australian state of Victoria.
The presentation was made in recognition of Phuc’s outstanding achievements in promoting Victoria's multicultural community.
The award, presented by the Victorian Multicultural Commission since 2004, aims to recognise and reward the contributions of individuals and organisations that promote the social, economic and cultural benefits of Victoria's multicultural community.
The VBAA leader told Vietnam News Agency that the award is an encouragement to all Vietnamese-Australian people who have made active contributions to Australia’s multicultural society.
The Overseas Vietnamese community is the fifth largest nationality in Australia, with 300,000 people./.
