Painting contest entries gifted to children’s hospital

Nearly 200 entries of the painting competition “Denmark in Your Eyes” were presented to the National Children’s Hospital at a ceremony in Hanoi on May 10.

– Nearly 200 entries of the paintingcompetition “Denmark in Your Eyes” were presented to the National Children’sHospital at a ceremony in Hanoi on May 10.

Speaking at the event, Danish Ambassador to Vietnam KimHøjlund Christensen said many scientific studies in Demark have shown that thepresence with visual art could ease tension and anxiety for families of thepatients. He hoped the paintings would offer those children being treated heresome relief.

Other entries of the contest were also sent to the Vietnam-GermanFriendship Hospital and the National Hospital of Traditional Medicine in a bidto create a more friendly treatment environment for patients.

These paintings were selected from over 4,100 submissions tothe annual contest for children, which was first held by the Embassy of Denmarkand Vietnam-Denmark Friendship Association in 2016. –VNA

Hanoi waives public transport fares during Tet holiday

During the same period, the Hanoi Traffic Operation Centre, in coordination with bus operators, will also waive fares on subsidised bus services. The programme will apply to 128 subsidised routes citywide over the nine days, with passengers granted tickets according to route pricing but paying no fare.
