Paragliding festival kicks off in Yen Bai

Over 200 paragliders from Vietnam and other foreign countries showed off their skills in a paragliding festival which opened in Khau Pha mountain pass in Yen Bai province.

Over 200 paragliders from Vietnam and other foreign countries showed off their skills in a paragliding festival which opened in Khau Pha mountain pass in Mu Cang Chai district, northern mountainous province of Yen Bai.

Titled “Fly over the golden season 2015”, the festival was coorganised by the Mu Cang Chai People’s Committee, Northern Aviation Club and Vietwings Hanoi Paragliding Club.

Khau Pha, about 1,200 metres above sea level, provides a breathtaking view of stunning natural scenery. It is rated as one of the four most beautiful paragliding sites in Vietnam and among the most beautiful flying spots in the world.

The Paragliding Festival, the fourth of its kind, is a highlight of the Cultural Tourism Week of Mu Cang Chai terraced rice fields 2015, which aim to honour and promote the values of the terraced paddy fields and ethnic peoples’ culture in the locality.-VNA

The relics will be open for public worship and veneration at Hanoi-based Quan Su Pagoda from 6 am to 9 pm from May 14-16. They will then be transferred to Tam Chuc Pagoda in the northern province of Ha Nam from May 17-21, before being returned to India.
