Vietnamese parliamentarians always support the strengthening of relations between their country and Japan as part of the bilateral Extensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia.
Politburo member To Huy Rua, head of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Organisation Commission, made the remark at his reception for Chairman of the Budget Committee of the Lower House of Japan Toshihiro Nikai in Hanoi on July 28.
Rua, who is also Chairman of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Parliamentarian Group, informed the guest of the Vietnamese Government’s decision to establish a Vietnam-Japan University, saying that this is a vivid demonstration of the strategic ties between the two countries.
He thanked the Japanese Government for the provision of substantial official development assistance (ODA) to Vietnam, pledging that the country will use the capital effectively and intensify inspection on the implementation of ODA projects.
He suggested the friendship parliamentary groups of both sides continue working together to enhance Vietnam-Japan cooperation in all fields, especially in agriculture and human resources training.
For his part, Toshihiro Nikai said Japan is willing to share its experience in reforming financial and monetary markets, dealing with bad debts, and restructuring State-run businesses and customs.
He said as Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarian Group and former Minister of Economics, Trade and Industry, he will play an active part in propelling the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries forward.-VNA
