The 12th meeting of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC),tenth tenure, opened in the capital city of Hanoi on March 22.
In hisopening speech, Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh said the 12th meeting isto discuss and approve draft documents to be submitted to the 11th NationalParty Congress slated for January 2011.
The draft documents include theplatform on national construction in the transition to socialism (supplementedand developed), the socio-economic development strategy for the 2011-2020period, the 10th CPVCC’s political report to be presented at the 11th NationalParty Congress and a report that sums up the implementation of Party regulationsas well as the proposed supplements and amendments to them.
The meetingwill also discuss personnel issues for its 11th tenure along with several otherissues, said the Party chief, stressing that these are very importantpreparations for the upcoming congress.
General Secretary Manh statedthat while studying and discussing the issues, delegates must grasp thoroughlyand apply correctly the Party’s guidance and unswervingly follow the basicprinciples on the Party and Party building based on Marxism-Leninism and Ho ChiMinh’s body of thought.
He urged the delegates to only make supplementsand amendments that are based on proven realities, as well as necessary andpopular. The delegates should conduct an intelligent, democratic discussion, andensure high consensus among Party members about the changes, Manhadded.
The leader went on to say that the revised regulations should helpthe Party develop more strongly, keeping pace with what is required in terms ofleadership and duties in the new phase of the nation’s development.
The12th meeting of the 10th CPVCC is scheduled to run until March 28./.
