Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong at the meeting (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary and President NguyenPhu Trong chaired a meeting on September 6 of the sub-committee on charge ofcompiling documents for the 13th National Party Congress.
The meeting aimed to collect opinions on the draft Political Report anddraft Report on 10-year Implementation of the Platform on nationalconstruction in the period of transition to socialism (revised and supplementedin 2011) or Platform 2011 in short.
The Party chief appreciated the work of the editorial team who held manyscientific seminars and studied various research projects in order to compilethe two draft documents.
He said the two documents should review notonly the past 5 years but also the more than 30 years since Doi Moi (renewal)was launched, and compared the performance with the tasks set by the 12th National Party Congress and the Platform 2011.
The Party leader required that the documents should clarify theoutstanding hallmarks of the past tenure along with limitations and existingproblems.
Meanwhile, the goals for national development should focus on the three strategicbreakthroughs which are infrastructure, institutions and human resources, hesaid, adding that further research is needed in this regard.
Opinions contributed to the two draft documents will be studied andnecessary adjustments made so that the two draft documents will be submitted tothe Politburo, and later to the 11th meeting of the Party CentralCommittee.-VNA
