Party politburo works on local congresses

On behalf of thepolitburo, PM Dung agreed with reports by local Party committees, withstrict criticism and targets for the next term.

He asked thoseParty organisations to collect opinions and complete reports to submitto their up-coming Party congresses and focus on analysis and appraisalsof local potential.

PM Dung praised efforts by the threeprovinces’ Party committees for the provinces’ socio-economicachievements in the 2006-2010 period.

In the period, Nam Dinhobtained a GDP growth of 10.2 percent, while Quang Binh achieved 11percent and Thua Thien-Hue, 12 percent. Their economic structuresdeveloped towards active trends with an average poverty reduction rateof 2-4 percent a year.

They maintained national defence andsecurity, ensured political stability and created a favourableenvironment for socio-economic development. Their works on Partystrengthening and following the moral example of President Ho Chi Minhachieved satisfactory results.

However, PM Dung pointed outdisadvantages of those Party organisations and told them to strictlyrecognise and work out solutions, especially for poverty reduction,raising income for people and narrowing the gaps between urban and ruralareas.

He advised Nam Dinh’s Party Committee to discuss adetailed plan to build the province into a centre of the Red Riverdelta in education, health care and industry.

Meanwhile, he toldQuang Binh to develop their potential in forestry to grow industrialplants in combination with wood processing and exert efforts to drive 32poor communes out of poverty in the next term.

The PM suggestedThua Thien- Hue quickly apply science and technology to agriculturalproduction. In addition, the province should continue tap theirpotential in infrastructure, including seaport, airport, land and railroutes to develop high technology, cultural tourism, health care andtraining, and build Hue city into a major centre.

On the Partyorganisations’ leadership and guidelines, PM Dung also asked them topoint out achievements and disadvantages in the fight againstcorruption./.
