Hanoi (VNA) – Head of the Party Central Committee’s Mass Mobilisation Commission Truong Thi Mai hosted a reception in Hanoi on January 15 for the President of the Vietnam Committee for Catholic Solidarity (VCCS), Priest Tran Xuan Manh.
Mai, who is also a Politburo member and secretary of the Party Central Committee, lauded the VCCS’s contributions to the national patriotism movement over the past four decades, saying that it has supported the Party and State’s policies and guidelines and actively joined campaigns launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
She said ties between the State and the Catholic community have been growing via practical activities, contributing to the national development.
Manh, for his part, pledged to continue urging Catholic dignitaries and followers to make further contributions to the national development, towards the goal of wealthy people, strong country with democracy, fairness and civilisation./.
