Hanoi (VNA) – About 41,000 security and armed forces personnel of the Philippines are ready to ensure security for the 30th Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), announced local authorities on April 23.
The summit will be held in Pasay city of the Philippines from April 26 to 29.
Oscar Albayalde, chief of the National Capital Region Police Office, said that about 26,000 soldiers and police officers, along with 15,000 security personnel from various Government agencies will be mobilised for the event.
“No-fly-zones” and “no-ship-zones” will also be set up during the summit, although the police affirmed that no threat has been found.-VNA
