Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan made the comment at a ceremony marking the 35th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam and national reunification (April 30).

On behalf of the Party and State, Doan granted the title of “Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces” to the Lam Ha Commune Anti-aircraft Militia Company that stood by other forces to shoot down 18 US fighter planes during the war.

In addition, Doan praised the city’s achievements in its efforts to become the political and socio-economic hub of Ha Nam province.

At the ceremony, participants recalled the glorious atmosphere during the days of fighting against the US invaders in the city./.
