Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung joined crowds of international guests toattend the cremation ceremony for late Cambodian King Father Norodom Sihanoukin Phnom Penh capital city, Cambodia on February 4.
On behalf of Party and State leaders of Vietnam and the Vietnamesepeople, PM Dung expressed deep sorrow for the death of the CambodianKing Father, who is a close friend of Vietnamese, and affirmed that it is agreat loss of Cambodia and its people.
Vietnamwill never forget Sihanouk’s valuable support of its struggle fornational liberation and reunification, he said, adding that he will dohis utmost together with King Norodom Sihamoni and other Cambodianleaders and people to continue maintaining and promoting the twocountries’ fine traditional relations which have been nurtured bySihanouk as well as generations of leaders and people of both sides.
Earlier, PM Dung had a working session with the Association of Vietnamese Investors in Cambodia .
According to the association’s report, two-way trade between Vietnamand Cambodia hit 3.3 billion USD in 2012, a year-on-year rise of 18percent. Vietnam has to date had 112 licensed projects in Cambodiaworth nearly 2.5 billion USD, with a focus on rubber planting, mining,oil and gas exploitation, electricity development, telecommunications,finance and banking.
Speaking at the workingsession, PM Dung said the association’s efforts in boosting business andinvestment in the neighbouring country has brought about practicalsocio-economic benefits to both countries, contributing to the goodneighbourliness, traditional friendship and comprehensive and long-termcooperation, in line with the agreement reached by the two countries’leaders.
He expressed his hope that Vietnamesebusinesses will increase their investment in Cambodia, contributingto both countries’ common development.
He promisedto discuss with the Cambodian side and relevant Vietnamese agencies waysto solve difficulties and create favourable conditions for businesseswho want to expand their operations in Cambodia
