Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc speaks at the event (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phucchaired the sixth plenary meeting of the 13th National Party Congress’sSub-Committee on Socio-Economic Affairs in Hanoi on January 16.
Speaking at the event, PM Phuc said the Party CentralCommittee’s 11th session basically adopted the sub-committee’s report onreviewing the implementation of the 2011-2020 socio-economic developmentstrategy and the 2021-2030 socio-economic development strategy, and a reportreviewing the 2016-2020 socio-economic performance, and orientations for 2021-2025socio-economic development.
He lauded the sub-committee for holding five plenarysessions and six working sessions with localities nationwide, studying 42topics, and organising a number of seminars.
The PM asked members of the sub-committee to review thecountry’s socio-economic achievements over the past decade, with a focus oncollective economy, cooperatives, agriculture restructuring, tourism,environment protection, climate change response and emerging socio-economicissues.
They were also required to discuss traditional andnon-traditional challenges such as natural disasters, climate change amidVietnam’s global integration.
The sub-committee and sub-committee in charge of documentsalso agreed on three strategic breakthroughs.
About key tasks, he asked the socio-economic sub-committeeto discuss how to effectively use resources to sustainably and harmoniouslydevelop socio-economic, cultural, environment, national defence-security, andexternal relations pillars.
He required that the reports must collect public feedback tosubmit to the Party Central Committee and the 13th National Party Congress./.
