PM chairs working session on coronavirus prevention, control

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Feb.4 chaired a working session between the government’s standing board and leaders of relevant ministries on the result of nCov prevention and control.

PM Phuc stated that prior to, during and after Lunar New Year holiday, relevant ministries and agencies have implemented resolutely and synchronously measures to prevent and control nCoV epidemic.

Thereby, initially, issues relating to the disease have been dealt with in order to further protect people’s health and safety.

Cho Ray hospital and Thanh Hoa general hospital have successfully treated some infected patients.

The Prime Minister also highly appreciated the Border Guard force for having well managed tracks across the border, and controlled travels through border gates.

A number of manufacturing industries has also promptly taken measures to restructure and expand markets to ensure production, he said, however, a number of other activities such as stock market, tourism and exports experienced decreases due to the impact of the disease.

It is forecast that this week and the next week will be the peak time of the disease with higher risk of spreading and increasing number of fatality, requesting further synchronous and drastic measures from the Government, ministries and branches, the PM stressed.

As from 18:05 on February 4 passenger Train T8701/MR2 from China to Vietnam was suspended amidst the spread of the disease.

Train MR1/T8702 from Vietnam to China will be halted as from 21:20 on February 5.

The rail services will be resumed after the ministry issues a new notice.

Meanwhile, international cargo trains through railway stations in Lang Son and Lao Cai will maintain their usual operation.

As of Feb. 4, Vietnam confirmed 10 cases of coronavirus infection with three being cured and discharged from the hospital./.
