PM considers support for Lao Bao economic zone

On a total area of 15,804ha, the LBZ lies at thestarting point of the East-West economic corridor, which is the shortestand preferred route for trade, tourism and services between Laos,Thailand, Myanmar and other countries in the Greater Mekong Sub-region.

As a State-run organisation, the LBZ has enjoyed a number ofgovernmental preferential policies, but it is facing a number ofobstacles.

The PM also asked the province to devise a fullplan for La Lay international economic border zone and agreed inprinciple to offer assistance for infrastructure development.

He asked Quang Tri to capitalise on its strength, including the Road 9linking with Laos, the National Highway 1 and the North-South railway ina bid to develop its economy.

Quang Tri is one of the twopoorest localities in the central region, with a household poverty rateof 12-13 percent, doubling the nation’s average.-VNA

Banks need to promote data analysis to minimise financial crime

The SBV has also recently issued Decision No. 67/QD-NHNN on a digital transformation project aimed at deploying core utilities for the development of the banking sector, ensuring connection with Project 06. Under the project, the SBV requires financial institutions to use the national database on population, identification and electronic authentication for banking activities, thereby supporting digital transformation and enhancing the effectiveness of crime prevention.

To meet the December 19 groundbreaking target for the Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong line at five designated sites, he tasked the Ministry of Construction with drafting a detailed critical path timeline.
