Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s just-concluded visit to Cuba made headlines in major Cuban newspapers in the country on March 28.

Granma, the mouthpiece of the Communist Party of Cuba, and Juventud Rebelde (Rebel Youth) both dedicated pages covering PM Dung’s meeting with former Cuban leader Fidel Castro as part of his stay from March 26-28.

Other papers also frontpaged stories about the meeting between PM Dung and President of the Cuban State Council and Council of Ministers Raul Castro Ruz.

A ceremony to award PM Dung with the Jose Marti Order, the highest distinction of the Cuban State, and the signing of medium-term bilateral economic agenda and memoranda of understanding on industry, agriculture and health care cooperation also featured in media coverage of the visit.

Also on March 28, media outlets Prensa Latina, AIN and newswire Cubadebate issued a joint statement on Dung’s visit.-VNA
