Hanoi (VNA)– Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on December 25 had a working session with leadingofficials of the northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang.

Representatives ofministries, central authorities and Tuyen Quang discussed and analysedproposals of the province, and agreed on the development of infrastructure,industrial zones and tourism in association with the revolutionary and historicaltradition as well as culture of the locality.

Speaking highly of theachievements recorded by the provincial Party organisation, authorities and locals,the PM also pointed to the province’s slow and unsustainable development, poorperformance despite the huge potential and desire, low provincial-levelcompetitiveness, hard livelihood of locals, especially in remote areas.

For 2022, he held thatthe province must continue to effectively fight the COVID-19 pandemic, completethe building of the zonings in the first quarter, and help ensure politicalstability, security, national defence, and social order.

The leader basicallyagreed with the proposals from the province and ordered relevant authorities tocontinue studying so as to work out suitable policies for the province. He alsoasked ministries to join hands with Tuyen Quang in prioritising infrastructureprojects, and the province to quickly implement the projects, especially insite clearance./.

19 localities eradicate substandard houses

Four more provinces have announced the completion of efforts to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated housing, bringing the total number of localities achieving this milestone to 19 out of 63 nationwide, according to the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs.

Vietnam accelerates repatriation of citizens detained in Myanmar
