Hanoi (VNA) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked ministers, leaders of relevant agencies and chairpersons of provincial and municipal people’s committees to speed up replies to comments and petitions they receive from the public.
The PM’s request follows a Government Office report on the website nguoidan.chinhphu.vn in the second quarter this year about the processing of petitions.
PM Phuc requested senior officials to strictly adhere to regulations on receiving, processing and answering petitions from individuals and companies as promulgated on the Government Portal on April 25 this year.
The PM asked the chairperson of people’s committees of Kien Giang, Soc Trang and Thai Binh provinces, Hanoi, and HCM City to accelerate tardy work in processing and answering residents’ petition on the Government Portal.
The PM assigned the Government Office to periodically collect information about the receipt, processing and answering of petitions. The information should be supplied to the press, and published on the Government Portal and on the websites of the Administrative Procedures Control Agency and the Government Office.
The Government Office report showed that in the second quarter this year the website nguoidan.chinhphu.vn received a total of 783 ideas and petitions from the public.
As many as 656 ideas are about the conduct of State workers, making up 84 percent of the total ideas. Petitions related to administrative regulations make up 16 percent.
The Government Office forwarded 291 comments to relevant ministries, agencies and localities for consideration. The remaining 491 are waiting for supplemental information from those who filed them.
By June 28, 118 out of 291 comments were checked and answered. The answers are published on the Government Portal. As many as 173 other comments are being processed and checked.
Public comments have resulted in warnings and punishments of several State employees, according to the Government Office.
